Reading is a pleasure of the mind, which means that it is a little like a sport: your eagerness and knowledge and quickness make you a good reader. Your experience, compared with his, brings you to the same or different conclusions, and your ideas develop as you understand his.

The same ideas, or related ones, turn up in different places; the human problems that repeat themselves in life repeat themselves in literature, but with different solutions according to different writings at different times.
Reading can only be fun if you expect it to be. If you concentrate on books somebody tells you "ought" to read, you probably won't have fun. But if you put down a book you don't like and try another till you find one that means something to you, and then relax with it, you will almost certainly have a good time--and if you become as a result of reading, better, wiser, kinder, or more gentle, you won't have suffered during the process.

Like most people, I was brought up to look upon life as a process of getting. It was not until in my late thirties that I made this important discovery: giving-away makes life so much more exciting. You need not worry if you lack money. This is how I experimented with giving-away. You don’t know what a letter like that means to us. We usually get nothing but complaints.”

有一道阅读理解是英语的有悬赏啊
有点意思……
这篇文章说的是一个要去伦敦的老妇人在小站问一个男孩火车到达和停留的时间。男孩连说了六个\tu:\就跑了，一开始老妇人不解，很生气，等到上火车后她才恍然大悟，知道这个聪明的男孩的意思。
注意：
1、老妇人到达车站的时间是9点整。最后一段说她在5小时零2分后上了车，即下午2：02是坐上了车。
2、注意老妇人问了两个问题：when will it arrive 和 when will it leave，即火车到达的时间和离站的时间。因此小男孩的回答包含了两个时间！这点在看第一个问时也能看出来。
先看第三问：由分析可知，第三问只能选D。即火车在13：58到站。
再看第一问：选D。可以从14：02减13：58得出。
最后看第二问。选B。这个比较显然了。13：58是 two to two ，14：02是two two.所以应该是 two to two to two two （从两点差两分到两点两分）。

英语四级阅读理解分数：快速阅读占总分的10%，71分，各7.1分，达到42.6分。
一、写作：
作文占总分的15%，即106.5分。
二、阅读理解：

2、词汇理解（选择单词填空）：10% = 71分，每题7.1分，42.6分。
3、仔细阅读：15%（106.5分），10分（10.65分）至63.9分，总分为177.5分。
三、听力：
听力部分占总分的35%，即248.5分。
1、客观听力题（单项选择）：25%，177.5分，7.1分。
2、主观听力题（复合听写）：10%，71分。前8分为3.55分，总分28.4分，后3分为14.2分，总分42.6分。
四、综合题：
1、填空，占总分的10%，即71分，总分20分，每题3.55分。

英语四六级考试属于国家的统一考试，是衡量大学生英语水平最权威的标准，也是非英语专业的学生对自己英语能力的最好证明，还有不少的本科学校对英语四六级是有硬性规定要求的，必须通过四六级考试才能正常毕业。
